3 Simple Tips To Improve Your Fitness

Improving your fitness levels doesn’t have to be hard and it’s actually easy when you know what you’re doing. If you want to improve your fitness, but you don’t know where to start, then read the rest of this article. We’ll discuss three simple tips that can help you.

Focus On Compound Exercises

Compound exercises involves multiple muscles instead of involving one main muscle. For example, the barbell curl is an isolation exercise that involves mainly the biceps to complete it. The bench press is a compound movement that mainly targets the chest, but it also involves the shoulders and triceps. If you focus on compound exercises, then you’ll gain muscle and burn more fat.

Some of the best compound exercises include the bench press, barbell squats, dead-lifts and rows to name a few. Include those exercises in every workout you do and you’ll improve your fitness levels.

Do Cardio Daily

It’s fine to take a few days off from hitting the weights. However, if you’re serious about improving your fitness, then do cardio every single day for at least 20 minutes. Twenty minutes is not too much to ask for and there’s plenty of cardio exercises you can do, so you won’t get bored. You can cycle one day, jog the next, run for the third cardio workout of the week, do the stair-master on the fourth day, go for a brisk walk on the fifth day and on day six and seven you can go for a jog. If you can’t do cardio seven days a week, then do it at least five days per week.

Be Aware Of What You Eat

If you eat junk food all the time or drink sugary beverages, the chances are you feel tired and sluggish and find it difficult to exercise. Be aware of what you put in your mouth because it can mean the difference between being fit and not being fit. Avoid eating bad foods and stick to eating oats, whole grains, veggies, fruit and drink plenty of water instead of soda, juices and other drinks filled with sugar. However, feel free to have a cheat day once a week, but don’t overdo it.

Be aware of what you eat and do your cardio regularly. Focus on compound lifts when you hit the gym. If you do those three things, your fitness levels will gradually increase and you’ll feel and look better than ever.
